Gujarat Giants vs Mumbai Indians, WPL 2023 Highlights: Saika Ishaque scalped four while Amelia Kerr and Nat Sciver-Brunt took two wickets each as Mumbai Indians bundled out Gujarat Giants for 64 runs to win the game by 143 runs. Earlier, Harmanpreet Kaur hit 65 runs off 30 balls while Amelia Kerr scored 45 not out off 24 balls as Mumbai Indians posted 207 for 5 in the Women’s Premier League opener against Gujarat Giants on Saturday. Hayley Matthews also contributed with 47 runs off 31 balls. Gujarat Giants skipper Beth Mooney had won the toss and opted to bowl first in the game. (SCORECARD)

India vs Ireland, Women’s T20 World Cup Highlights: India entered the Women’s T20 World Cup semifinals after beating Ireland by five runs (DLS). Rain stopped play with India ahead on DLS method against Ireland. With 59 being the par score after 8.2 overs, Ireland are currently 54 for the loss of two wickets. Ireland steadied their innings after Amy Hunter was run out while Renuka Singh made short work of Orla Prendergast. Smriti Mandhana was the top performer for India with a 56-ball-87 as India register 155/6 against Ireland in their Group B encounter. Mandhana stitched together a 50-run partnership with Shafali Verma and although wickets fell in a heap at one point, she continued to play confidently. India vs Pakistan Women’s T20 World Cup Match Highlights: Top knocks from Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh, propelled India to a seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Group B match at the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup. Opted to bat first, Pakistan lost some initial wickets but a half-century from Bismah Maroof and an unbeaten knock of 43* runs from Ayesha Naseem, guided them to a total of 149/4 in 20 overs. Later, India lost an early wicket of Yastika Bhatia, which was followed by the dismissals of Shafali Verma and Harmanpreet Kaur. However, Jemimah struck an unbeaten partnership with Richa Ghosh (31*) and brought up her ninth T20I half-century off 38 balls, to take India across the line with an over to spare. India vs Australia, 1st Test Day 3, Live Updates: Australia are one down after Ravichandran Ashwin claimed the wicket of Usman Khawaja early in the guests’ second innings of the game. Earlier, Rohit Sharma’s 120 and Axar Patel’s 84 steered India to 400 all out, helping the side take a first innings lead of 223 runs. Todd Murphy claimed seven wickets but lacked an equally good support from the other Australian bowlers. Visiting skipper Pat Cummins had opted to bat first in the game. India vs Australia, 1st Test Day 2 Highlights: Rohit Sharma’s 120 and 66 and 52 from Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, respectively, helped India continue their dominance on the second day as well. India were 321 for 7 at stumps on Friday with a lead of 144 runs over the guests. Australia did a decent job with the ball with wickets at regular intervals but knocks of Rohit, Jadeja and Axar kept India in the driver’s seat throughout the day. Todd Murphy returned a five-wicket haul, but lacked support from other bowlers. On Thursday, Australia skipper Pat Cummins had won the toss and opted to bat first. Jadja’s five-wicket haul had helped India bundle out the guests for 177. (SCORECARD)

Earlier, Cheteshwar Pujara raced to his 35th Test half-century, while Shreyas Iyer hit his 4th fifty in the format. The guests have lost the wickets of KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant. Taijul Islam has taken two wickets while Khaled Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have picked one each so far. India’s stand-in skipper KL Rahul had won the toss and opted to bat against the Shakib Al Hasan-led side.
