PBKS vs MI Highlights, IPL 2024: Ashutosh Sharma’s pyrotechnics did not prove to be enough as five-time champions Mumbai Indians beat Punjab Kings by nine runs in an Indian Premier League match in Mullanpur on Thursday. Chasing a challenging 193, young sensation Ashutosh played the knock of his nascent career, smashing a 28-ball 61 to keep PBKS in the hunt till the end. Besides Ashutosh, Shashank Singh made 41 off 25 balls for PBKS but were eventually bowled for 183 in 19.1 overs. Suryakumar Yadav struck 78 off 53 balls to take MI to 192 for seven. RR vs DC Highlights, IPL 2024: Riyan Parag’s knock and Yuzvendra Chahal and Nandre Burger’s top bowling performance helped Rajasthan Royals beat Delhi Capitals by 12 runs in their IPL 2024 match on Thursday. Chasing 186, DC lost some wickets but the partnership between David Warner and Rishabh Pant kept them in the game. However, RR kept on scalping wickets and maintained their dominance. In the end, RR restricted DC at 173/5 and won the match by 12 runs. For DC, David Warner scored 49 while Tristan Stubbs scored 43 runs. Heinrich Klassen (80) and Aiden Markram (42) provided the late charge to take the hosts past the 250-mark. In reply, MI were two wicket down at the score of 66 before Tilak Varma (64 off 34) and Naman Dhir (30 off 14) stitched a solid 84-run partnership to give the side a solid hope. KKR vs SRH Highlights, IPL 2024: Andre Russel’s all-round effort headlined Kolkata Knight Riders’ sweaty four-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL match at Eden Gardens on Saturday. Russell’s brutal unbeaten 64 off 25 balls with three fours and seven sixes and Phil Salt’s more pragmatic 54 off 40 balls guided KKR to 208 for seven. Left-arm pacer T Natarajan was their most successful bowler with a three-wicket haul (3/32). At several points, SRH threatened to chase 208 down, particularly when Heinrich Klaasen (63, 29b, 8x6s) went berserk in the backend of the innings. But the Hyderabad side fell agonisingly close to the target with Harshit Rana saving 12 runs in the final over. (Scorecard)

IPL 2024, CSK vs RCB Highlights: Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets in the IPL opener at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Friday. RCB recovered to 173 for six against CSK after opting to bat. Skipper Faf du Plessis (35 off 23) got his team off the blocks before the visitors collapsed to 78 for five. Anuj Rawat (48 off 25) and Dinesh Karthik (38 not out off 26) shared a 95-run stand off 50 balls for the sixth wicket to give some respectability to the total. Mustafizur Rahman was the stand out bowler for CSK taking four wickets. In response, CSK got home in 18.4 overs after contributions from debutant Rachin Ravindra (37 off 15), seasoned Ajinkya Rahane (27 off 19), Shivam Dube (34 not out off 28) and Ravindra Jadeja (25 not out off 17). Ellyse Perry has been joined by Richa Ghosh at the middle. Earlier, Shreyanka Patil picked four wickets as RCB bundled out DC for 113 runs. The Meg Lanning-led side got off to a flying start, thanks to Shafali Verma’s 44 off 27 but once she departed, RCB bossed the game onwards. Sophie Molineux provided the turnaround with three wickets, including that of Shafali, in a single over. Patil and Asha Sobhana made sure DC never bounced back. The duo aims to stitch a solid partnership for the visitors. On the other hand, Indian bowlers are eyeing some quick wickets in the early stages of the innings. Earlier, Shubman Gill’s century propelled India to 255 on Day 3 of the ongoing second Test against England. India have now set a target of 399 for England. Resuming the day at 28/0, India lost two early wickets in the form of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal but Gill brought the hosts back into the game. India vs England, 1st Test Day 1 Highlights: Yashasvi Jaiswal and spinners shone on the opening day as India posted 119 for 1 by the end of play on Thursday. Getting an invitation to bowl first in Hyderabad, the hosts bowled out England for 246 with the home team spinners sharing eight wickets between them. Stokes top-scored for the guests with 70 off 88 balls. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin bagged three wickets apiece while there were two each for Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah. In reply, Jaiswal’s impressing knock made sure India remained on top. (Scorecard)
