Devon Conway (45) and Rachin Ravindra (42) took New Zealand off to a solid start in the paltry chase. Earlier, Trent Boult took three wickets as New Zealand bowled out Sri Lanka for 171 after Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to bowl first. New Zealand always had an upper hand in the game as they kept on scalping wickets at regular intervals. For Sri Lanka, Kusal Perera was the highest scorer with 51 runs. Earlier, fiery centuries from Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama guided Sri Lanka to 344 for 9 in 50 overs. India World Cup 2023 squad announcement: All-rounder Hardik Pandya has been appointed as Rohit Sharma’s deputy as India announced their 15-member squad for the ODI World Cup 2023 on Tuesday. While India have gone ahead with KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, who have just returned from injuries, Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma were left out. India have gone with three left-arm spinners while three specialist pacers have been picked. India skipper Rohit Sharma and BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar addressed a press conference and revealing India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming World Cup on Tuesday.

India vs Korea, Asian Champions Trophy 2023 Highlights: India maintained their dominance in the Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament with a nervy 3-2 victory over South Korea. With 10 points from three wins and one draw, India are at the top of the league table. Nilakanta Sharma put India in lead with his sixth-minute strike. India’s joy was short-lived as the Koreans came back with the equaliser barely six minutes later, Kim Sunghyun driving the ball past home team goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak. India, however, regained their lead as Harmanpreet Singh struck off a penalty corner in the 23rd minute. Mandeep Singh made it 3-1 with his 33rd minute strike, consolidating India’s position in the match. Yang Jihun pulled one back for Korea in the 58th minute but India held on to the lead in the final two minutes.

West Indies vs India 1st Test, Day 2, Live Updates: Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a brilliant century on debut as India continue to dominate against West Indies on Day 2 of the first Test encounter in Dominica. Rohit Sharma also followed suit and scored his 10th ton before getting dismissed by Alick Athanaze. Jomel Warrican took the wicket of Shubman Gill. Earlier on Day 1, Ravichandran Ashwin put India in control of the proceedings with his five-wicket haul. Apart from him, spinner Ravindra Jadeja also took a three-wicket haul. (Live Scorecard)

India vs Australia Highlights, WTC Final, Day 5: Nathan Lyon scalped four wickets while Scott Boland took three as Australia defeated India by 209 runs on Day 5 of the World Test Championship final, at The Oval. This was India’s second defeat in successive WTC finals after losing to New Zealand in 2021 in the inaugural edition. Chasing an improbable target of 444, India started the day at 164 for 3 but soon lost batting mainstay Virat Kohli (49), followed by Ravindra Jadeja (0) and Ajinkya Rahane (43) to be bowled out for 234 in 63.3 overs. Scott Boland (3/46) was the best bowler on view as he removed Kohli and Jadeja in a single over to decisively end the contest and the rest was formality. Nathan Lyon (4/41), however, had the best figures as he mopped up the tail in a jiffy.  (Scorecard)

    We were patient enough against a quality line-up, and managed to get the breakthroughs needed. Rub off the green went our way, a smart catch from Smith and to get Kohli early on was a big boost. He played well in the first innings (about Rahane), was a nice partnership as well, we knew if we stick to our task we will get chances and they did come. This group has played for a long time, some new guys have come in, the last series against India didn’t go our way, but we have played together as a group and have stuck together. Both sides were familiar to each other (having played a Test series recently), a lot of the guys have played with each other in the IPL, so we know a lot about watching others games, Lyon did a good job as well and we enjoyed ourselves.

Kohli raced to his half-century in 35 balls, while Bracewell is also batting well at the other end. Noor Ahmad has picked two wickets while Rashid Khan has scalped one. GT skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl.
