Right then, we have had three T20Is but there are still a couple of more matches to go. With that said, the caravan now moves to the west of the Atlantic Ocean to the United States of America for the final two matches. The 4th T20I will be played on Saturday, the 12th of August in Lauderhill, Florida and will begin at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT). Our build-up though will begin a lot sooner. Do join us for all the exciting action. Take care and goodbye!

Hardik Pandya, the skipper of India, says that it was a very important win. Adds that they had spoken as a group about these three games being exciting. Mentions that two losses do not change much for them. Feels that it is important to show that they mean business when it comes to such games. Shares that since Nicholas Pooran had not come out to bat, it allowed him to use his spinners. Credits the spinners for their fantastic effort and adds that Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeeep Singh bowled well as well. States they need to take responsibility while playing with seven batters. Ends by saying that it is important to have someone like Suryakumar Yadav in the team who can take responsibility.

Rovman Powell, the captain of West Indies says that they were about 10-15 runs short and it turned out to be a good batting wicket. Adds that they did well with the bat but lost their way a bit in the middle overs. Mentions that looking back, Nicholas Pooran could have been sent up the order but they wanted to give Johnson Charles a chance and in the end, they were a few runs short. Adds that they bowled a lot of pace-on deliveries and it would have been better to take pace off but they have a few days in hand and will look to bounce back later.

Suryakumar Yadav is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his stellar knock of 83 runs from 44 balls. He says that it was really important to be himself. Adds that the team management wanted him to bat as much as possible. On his unorthodox strokes, he says that he has practiced these strokes a lot at home. Also says that he loves playing these strokes and is happy with how things went. On his chemistry with Tilak Varma, he says that both understand each other well. Adds that the way Tilak batted gave him confidence. Mentions that it was a great inning from Tilak. Shares that Hardik Pandya had spoken in the meeting about someone needing to put their hands up and he is happy to do that.

The Presentation ceremony…

Earlier in the game, Rovman Powell won the toss and opted to bat and the openers got West Indies off to a fairly decent start. The innings fell apart a bit in the middle overs with Brandon King holding up one end and the dismissal of Nicholas Pooran put the brakes on the innings. It was then a fiery cameo by the skipper Rovman Powell in the back end of the innings that took them to 159 runs. For India, the spinners bowled for most of the innings with the pacers bowling the first two and death overs. Axar Patel completed his quota at the halfway mark and bowled well but Kuldeep Yadav picked up three wickets and allowed the visitors to control the middle phase. Coming to the chase, India came out with an aggressive intent and even though they lost a couple of early wickets, they had more than enough firepower to get the win.

West Indies will be a tad disappointed with that bowling effort but they were treated to some exquisite batting from Suryakumar Yadav. Obed McCoy picked up a wicket early but was torn apart in his two overs and it was a similar story with Romario Shepherd who too went for plenty. The spinners bowled decently well but simply didn’t have the wickets in the middle overs. Alzarri Joseph was the only bowler who trouble the Indian batters and picked up a couple of wickets as well but it wasn’t enough.

The series is well and truly alive as India make it 2-1 after having gone 2-0 behind! Under the immense pressure of losing the five-match series in the third game itself, India have pulled off a statement victory here. Chasing 160, the highest score of this series, India got off to a quick start but did lose Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first over itself. Suryakumar Yadav came in and played a few shots but Shubman Gill once again disappointed getting out in the Powerplay. After that, the visitors went on a rampage with Yadav showing no mercy to the Windies bowlers and Tilak Varma playing another fine supporting knock. Yadav got a quick fifty and got out on 83 but Varma kept on his impressive showing and along with skipper Hardik Pandya, took his side over the line, remaining unbeaten on 49.

17.5 overs (6 Runs) SIX! THAT’S IT! Hardik Pandya goes down the ground for a maximum and Tilak Varma will remain unbeaten on 49! Rovman Powell bowls another off cutter, on a length, on off, Hardik Pandya gets it in his slot and does not miss out. Picks the bones out of it and clears the long off fence easily for a maximum. India win by 7 wickets!

17.4 overs (1 Run) Fuller and this time, off cutter, outside off, Tilak Varma goes for the drive. Gets an inside edge that goes past the leg stump and Tilak takes a single.

17.3 overs (1 Run) Goes into the wicket this time, on middle, Hardik Pandya stands tall and pulls it towards deep mid-wicket for a single.

17.2 overs (1 Run) Keeps it on a length, slower as well, outside off, Tilak Varma drops it in front of point and takes a quick single.

17.1 overs (1 Run) An off cutter, on a length, outside off, Hardik Pandya goes for a swipe across the line. Gets it off the outer half of the bat towards deep cover for one.

16.6 overs (1 Run) Nails another yorker, on leg, Hardik Pandya digs it out off his toes and hits it towards long on for one.

16.5 overs (2 Runs) In the air…but safe! Lands it on a length, cutter, on middle, Hardik Pandya clears his front leg and goes for a heave across the line. Loses his shape and ends up slicing it over extra cover for another couple.

16.4 overs (1 Run) On a yorker length, at the stumps, Tilak Varma gets his bat down in time and squeezes it out towards deep mid-wicket for one.

16.3 overs (0 Run) Slower and fuller, around off, Tilak Varma reads the change of pace well and defends it towards cover.

16.2 overs (2 Runs) Pitches this one up, on middle, Tilak Varma leans and clips it wide of long on. Comes back for the second run with ease.

16.1 overs (0 Run) Banged in short, down leg, Tilak Varma swivels in the crease and tries to help it fine on the leg side but connects with thin air.

15.6 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Streaky but they all count! Serves it on a nagging length, angling in, on middle, Hardik Pandya tries to work it towards mid on but does not use his feet. Gets an outside edge that races to the third man fence for yet another boundary. India are now 12 runs away from pulling one back in the series. WI vs IND: 3rd T20I: Hardik Pandya hits Romario Shepherd for a 4! IND 148/3 (16.0 Ov). Target: 160; RRR: 3.0

15.5 overs (2 Runs) In the channel on off, on a good length, Hardik Pandya gets on the front foot and dabs it towards cover for a single. Kyle Mayers misses the shy at the batting end and concedes an extra run.

15.4 overs (0 Run) Shortens his length and serves it near the tramline on off, Hardik Pandya hangs back and tries to run it down to third man but misses out.

15.3 overs (1 Run) Full and drifting onto the pads, Tilak Varma brings his wrists into play and clips it on the leg side for a single.

15.2 overs (0 Run) Fullish delivery, around off, Tilak Varma jams this one out towards cover.

15.1 overs (6 Runs) SIX! Short and dispatched by the southpaw! Shepherd misses his length slightly and drops it short, on middle, Tilak Varma stays still in the crease and latches onto the pull shot. Clears the deep square leg fence with ease and picks up a maximum. WI vs IND: 3rd T20I: It's a SIX! Tilak Varma hits Romario Shepherd. IND 141/3 (15.1 Ov). Target: 160; RRR: 3.93

That is it then from this game and for the first time since 2016, West Indies have beaten India in back-to-back T20I matches. Right then, two down, three more to go and the third T20I will be played at the same ground, the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Tuesday, the 8th of August. The action will begin at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT) but you can join us for the build-up a lot earlier. Cheers!

Rovman Powell, the skipper of West Indies informs that they are really in a good position. Says that it was always going to come down to how they bat against the spinners. Feels that they did great in the middle overs but lost their way by the end. States that left-handers have an advantage against wrist spinners and he is glad they have two great players in that role – Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer and it’s just that at least one of them has to play enough deliveries. Ends by praising Romario Shepherd for his bowling effort as well.

Hardik Pandya, the captain of India says that in all honesty, the batting performance from them was under par and even though the wicket was on the slower side, they should have gotten to 160-170. On Nicholas Pooran, he says that it becomes difficult to rotate the spinners when he is hitting the ball like this but they did fight back well. Adds that the current combination that they have, they have to bat with 7 batters and need to trust the team and they need to figure out a way to get more contribution from the tailenders if required but the batters themselves need to take more responsibility. On Tilak Varma, he says that the way he has been batting gives them a solid option in the middle order, especially given that he is a left-hander.

Nicholas Pooran wins the Player of the Match award. He starts by saying that he is satisfied with his performance. Mentions that the beauty of this game is that it isn’t over until it is over. States that he does not feel that he is in his purple patch, since losing the captaincy he has started to look at the game from a different perspective and adds that all the hard work is paying off. Says that it is all about being positive and having the right energy.

The Presentation ceremony…

Earlier in the game, Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first on a pitch that did look a bit spin friendly. The Indian openers went hard at the bowling but Shubman Gill fell early followed by Suryakumar Yadav. Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma led the fightback before Kishan too got out and after that, there was simply no one to stick around with Varma. Varma did bring up his maiden T20I fifty and a couple of lusty blows from the tailenders took India to over 150. As for the Windies’ bowlers, they were pretty good for most of the innings with Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph picking up a couple of wickets while remaining economical. Coming to the chase, it swung from one end to the other but eventually, the hosts managed to get over the line.

India will have a lot of mixed emotions at the moment but it is another defeat for them and yet another sub-par display. Skipper Hardik Pandya took the new ball and gave his side a dream start with a double breakthrough in the very first over. But, the visitors did bowl a couple of really expensive overs and got the opposition to get well ahead of the required rate. They seemed to have no answer for Nicholas Pooran and due to this, Axar Patel wasn’t even used. They did however get back into the game with a plethora of wickets thanks mainly to the leg-spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi but the pacers simply didn’t back it up at the backend of the chase. India now face an uphill task of winning three games in a row to clinch the series.

After another solid display with the ball, West Indies got off to a poor start with the bat with Brandon King and Johnson Charles both falling in the first over. There was a counterpunch from Kyle Mayers but he too got out leaving the hosts 32/3. Then came the 57-run stand between skipper Rovman Powell and Nicholas Pooran with the latter in sensational hitting form. This partnership turned the game on its head and at one point they were 126/4 with Pooran spitting fire. This however soon became 129/8 and at that point, the hosts looked down and out. Luckily for them, the pair of Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph came clutch and managed to take the side home with 7 balls to spare.

Pheww, that was a humdinger! West Indies have gone from cruising to victory to throwing it all away to just about scraping over the line and they will be mightily relieved. The hosts go 2-0 up in the five-match T20I series, just one game away from sealing the series.

18.5 overs (4 Runs) FOUR! Here are the winning runs. Akeal Hosein takes his side over the line here. An all-round performance from the spinner. Mukesh Kumar pitches it up, on off. Akeal Hosein drills it down the park for a cracking boundary. West Indies win the match by 2 wickets.

Thanks to the technology, India are able to get rid of Shimron Hetmyer now as the Ball Tracking shows three reds. And the suddenly, the floodgates have opened up here. Three wickets come in total in this over. India have the momentum on their side. WI vs IND: 2nd T20I: WICKET! Shimron Hetmyer lbw b Yuzvendra Chahal 22 (22b, 1x4, 1x6). WI 129/8 (16.0 Ov). Well then, Hardik Pandya picks up the trophy and begins the celebrations with the whole team, as they line-up for a team photo, capurting the winning moment away from home. We are now down to the last leg of India’s tour of the West Indies which consists of a five-match T20I series. The first T20I will take place on Thursday, the 3rd of August at this very venue. The first ball will be bowled at 8.00 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT). As always, you can join us early for the build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!

Hardik Pandya, the stand-in skipper of India, says that it was a very special game. Mentions that he looks forward to such games when something is on the line. Shares that they knew what was at stake in this game. States that the way the boys showed and enjoyed the game was heartening to see. Also says that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are an integral part of the game but feels that is important to give exposure to the youngsters. Shares that he had a chat with Virat Kohli a couple of days where he advised him to spend time out in the middle which helped him. Shares that the ball was doing just a bit and the game was sealed in the first Powerplay itself. Ends by saying that this is one of the nicest grounds he has played cricket in.

Shai Hope, the captain of West Indies is in for a chat. He starts by saying that hindsight is the best sight but he does not think he would change anything. States that they could not do much damage with the new ball. He thought 350 was an acheivable target on this wicket, but it was not meant to be. The key was to set up a solid platform and it is evident that they lacked. Mentions that he feels the boys haven’t been consistent with their attitudes.

Ishan Kishan wins the Player of the Series award for his consistent batting up top and brilliant golvework behind the sticks. He starts by saying that he is unhappy as he was unable to finish the games. Mentions that whenever he comes down here the next time he will try to finish the game and score plenty of runs. Informs that he was not thinking about what he did in the previous game, but remained focus and kept take a new ball with a clear head. States that it is always important to win at this level. Informs that even after scoring 350 runs they were on their toes for picking quick wickets and everything is looking positive at the moment. He says that the team is focused on the upcoming series, rather than focusing on the T20 World Cup happening next year here in West Indies.

Shubman Gill wins the Player of the Match for his brilliant knock of 85 runs from 92 balls. He starts by saying that it was a very special knock since it was his first fifty of the tour. Shares that it was a pretty good wicket to bat on. Adds that the wicket got tougher to bat as the ball got old. Reckons that as an opener, it is about assessing the conditions as early as possible. Feels that it is important to keep putting pressure on the opposition in the ODI format. Ends by saying that he tries to play his own game and does not think of external factors.

Stay tuned for the presentation…

Earlier in the match, after being put to bat. Indian batters came out and meant only business from the get go. Despite Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma being rested for this match, it was the opening pair of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill that set the tone for the visitors. In total, 4 batters got to their half-centuries, a few stuck for long after that, while a few slipped out soon after getting 50 runs. Nevertheless, one of them was the stand-in skipper, Hardik Pandya, who took the matter into his own hands at the very end, and made sure to take his side to a gigantic total. During the chase, Indian bowlers did not give the batters any sniff and took the game away from them quite comfortably.

This is what an Indian side is capable of. It was a dominating performance by the Indian bowlers from the get go. At first, it is Mukesh Kumar who set the tone with his incredible new ball bowling. The bolwer who made his debut in this series, certainly kept things tight and broke the back bone of this batting line up. He picked up three wickets inside the first Powerplay. Then, Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav did what they did best, and kept picking wickets at will. At one point, they had the opposition teetering at 88-8, but that 9th wicket-stand delayed the win for the visitors. That’s when ‘Lord Thakur’ put his hand up and broke this stand and soon got the final wicket to complete his four-wicket haul.

To be honest, it was a sorry outing for the hosts especially with the bat in hand. No one could really put their hand up in the top order, it was mostly a one man show by Alick Athanaze who racked up some crucial runs from the top-order department. No other batter could really do anything with the bat which made it more difficult for the hosts to get near this huge target. It was the 9th wicket stand of 55 runs that stood out for the hosts, but they eventually bundled out only for 151 runs, which is not even the half of what India scored.

An emphatic win for India. They have won the final match of this ODI series and with this win, they even seal the series. The match was certainly over a long time back, but a gritty stand between Alzarri Joseph and Gudakesh Motie meant that West Indies do not lose by an embarrassing margin here, nevertheless, they will be gutted with their performance in the final outing.

35.3 overs (0 Run) OUT! TIMBER! There it is, Shardul Thakur finishes with career-best figures and wraps up the game for India! Comes from ’round the wicket and angles it in, at the stumps, on a good length, Jayden Seales clears his front leg and has a wild heave across the line. He connects with thin air and sees his woodwork disturbed. India win by 200 runs and win the series 2-1!

35.2 overs (1 Run) A length ball, down leg. Motie flicks it to square leg for one.

35.1 overs (0 Run) Short one, on off. Motie tries to go for the hook shot but misses.

UPDATE – 10.42 pm IST (5.12 pm GMT) – Oops! It has started to rain again! The trend of a wicket bringing about rain has continued even in the ODI series. The ground staff rush in with the covers and have now covered the entire square. The rain has come at the wrong time for the West Indies who were into India’s tail and were just two wickets away from bowling them out. 37.1 overs (0 Run) Starts right on the money as he bowls a quick fuller one on middle. Shardul Thakur manages to jam it out toward mid-wicket.

Drinks Break! India find themselves in a lot of trouble at 167-7. The onus is on Shardul Thakur to bat with the tail and take the visitors to a respectable total on what is a tough wicket to bat on. On the other hand, West Indies have done an exceptional job with the ball but the job is not yet over. They cannot afford to be complacent and need to wrap the innings as quickly as possible. Shai Hope now brings Alzarri Joseph (5-0-27-0) back into the attack.

Right then, 270 runs needed for India to win and seal the series. The target is not a big one considering the pitch conditions and spin might not even play a big role during the chase but the batting has let India down so far which gives Australia more than half a chance to get the win. Let’s see if India can turn up well and clinch the series by chasing this down. The run chase is coming up soon.

The Aussies started off with flying colors but Hardik Pandya changed the momentum and shifted that in favor of India. The hosts controlled the middle phase as well with the spinners bossing play. For India, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav were their best bowlers as they scalped 3 wickets each. They were well supported by Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj who took a couple of wickets each and overall, India will be pretty content with that effort.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Aussies started off sensationally as the two openers came out with a positive mindset and scored at a blistering pace. The duo of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head scored 68 for the first wicket but the middle order failed to capitalize on a brilliant platform laid by the openers. The introduction of Hardik Pandya into the attack helped the hosts as he changed the game by scalping 3 wickets in quick succession. The lower middle order along with the tail then scored some crucial runs and helped the Aussies to post a total they could fight for. Most of the Aussie batters did get starts but no one could step up and convert that into a big one.

A good fightback from India after a difficult start right at the top restricts Australia to a total of 269 runs for the loss of 10 wickets. Inspired bowling changes and a clinical fielding performance helps India to restrict the Aussies for not too many on the board in this series decider.

48.6 overs (0 Run) OUT! CAUGHT! This time Mitchell Starc finds the man in the deep. Mohammed Siraj bangs it in short again and over middle and leg. Mitchell Starc looks to take on the pull shot again and hits it aerial but flat. The ball goes toward deep mid-wicket where Ravindra Jadeja takes a good catch low in front of him. Siraj finishes things off with his second wicket and Australia have been bowled out for 269 runs in 49 overs!

48.5 overs (1 Run) Leg bye! Good length on the pads, Adam Zampa hops back and looks to work it away but misses. The ball goes off the pads and just behind square leg as the batters pick up a leg bye.

Or will we see the hosts gain an unassailable 2-0 lead? Let’s find out. Toss and team news coming up shortly…

In the first ODI, a clinical effort with the ball led by Mohammad Shami saw them bundle out Australia for 188. India will look to put on an improved batting display in their quest to make it 2-0. Moreover, they will be delighted by the return of their regular skipper, Rohit Sharma.

Kartik says that in recent times teams chasing have won but all in all it is a belter of a pitch.

India, on the other hand, are a formidable side in their own backyard. Rohit Sharma will not be available for this game, but Shubman Gill will look to continue his sublime form. KL Rahul is part of the squad and it will be interesting to see whether he plays or the home side goes with Ishan Kishan. Their top order also looks in good shape while the addition of Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh makes them even stronger. Mitchell Starc will lead their bowling attack here as well alongside Sean Abbott, while Adam Zampa comes in to take responsibility for their spin department. They look like a solid team on paper and will be tough to beat for the hosts.

Hello and a warm welcome folks! India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a 2-1 series result in the Tests and also qualified for the WTC final. Now, both teams are set to face off in a 3-match ODI series with the first game being played at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Both teams are on a winning run and will look to continue that. Australia have won 9 of their last 10 matches while India have lost only 2 of their last 10 ODIs. As both teams look evenly matched, we can expect a thrilling contest.
