TV News: 1923, Lehman, Digman, Alaska, Scratch – Dark Horizons

Brandon Sklenar (“The Offer”) has joined the cast of the “Yellowstone” prequel series “1923” on the Paramount+ service. He plays Spencer Dutton, the nephew of Harrison Ford’s Jacob Dutton and a man who witnessed the horrors of WW1.

The series introduces a new generation of the Dutton family and explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west. Helen Mirren, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton and Brian Geraghty co-star. [Source: Variety]

The Lehman Trilogy
French filmmaker Florian Zeller (“The Father”) will make his TV debut directing, writing and co-producing the adaptation of Stefano Massini’s play “The Lehman Trilogy.” Lorenzo Mieli (“My Brilliant Friend”) co-produces.

The epic drama charts the history of one of the global financial institutions that helped spark the 2008 recession. Sam Mendes helmed the English-language version which won five Tony Awards earlier this year. [Source: Variety]

Tim Robinson, Mitra Jouhari, Guz Khan, Dale Soules, Melissa Fumero and Tim Meadows will join Andy Samberg in the voice cast for the half-hour animated comedy series “Digman!” at Comedy Central and Titmouse Studios.

The story is set in a world where archaeologists are massive celebrities and the coolest people on the planet with Samberg as protagonist Rip Digman. Neil Campbell serves as showrunner. [Source: Deadline]

Alaska Daily
The official trailer for ABC’s drama thriller “Alaska Daily” has been released ahead of its October 6th debut on ABC and Hulu.

Hilary Swank plays a recently disgraced investigative journalist who takes on a job in Alaska where she must help with the investigation of a cold case involving the deaths of many indigenous women.

From Scratch
Netflix has premiered the trailer for its new eight-episode limited series “From Scratch” starring Zoe Saldana.

The “Star Trek” actress plays an American student abroad in Italy who falls hard for a Sicilian chef. When the couple’s romance and future are threatened, their two families come together and prove love crosses all borders.

Eugenio Mastrandrea, Danielle Deadwyler, Keith David, and Judith Scott co-star. The series launches on October 21st.
