We’ve Reached The ‘Fox News Accuses White House Of Flying Pedophile Flag’ Phase Of Trump News Cycle

Yesterday, Fox News sent a tweet that, even by its vile, low-class standards, was a real doozy:

The tweet and the headline blasted: “White House flew controversial new transgender flag that promotes grooming and pedophilia, critics say.” That “critics say” was doing a lot of hard work, considering how the only “critics” saying that are America’s unhinged anti-LGBTQ+ Nazis. We also love how they stuffed that “critics say” down at the end, so most people would simply see them accusing the White House of promoting grooming and pedophilia. Hitler’s ad guys would be impressed.

The tweet has been deleted, of course, and the headline has been changed. Now it says, “White House flew controversial new transgender flag that troubles some critics in the gay community,” which is still incredibly misleading. First of all it’s not a “transgender flag.” Basic fact-checking continues not to be a trend running rampant in Fox News HQ, obviously.

Also, the “critics in the gay community” it references are the deranged Gays Against Groomers freakshows, which is not a real gay group, but rather a QAnon-promoting far-right MAGA trash group created to make it look like there are even people in the LGBTQ+ community who are joining the American Nazi crusade against trans people and so-called “groomers.” It’s similar to when right-wingers trot out their Black friends who conveniently also excuse white supremacy. It’s one of the oldest right-wing tricks in the book.

“The flag represents to us an ideology, a political statement of indoctrinating kids and trans kids and pushing kids to sterilize and mutilate themselves,” Jaimee Michell, the lesbian founder of Gays Against Groomers, told Fox News Digital.

So that there is some fascist garbage wrapped up in a pack of easily disproven lies.

The article says “some [are] even saying that in their opinion, it appears to reference a cult of pedophilia.” It calls the flag a “mysterious and divisive new symbol of pride.” (It’s called the Progress Pride flag and it was created in 2018. Not that “new.”)

The article says, “Some critics charge that the new design actually glorifies pedophilia at a time when children are being sexualized in public schools and elsewhere against the wishes of their parents.” Of course it’s a Christian fascist propaganda lie that “children are being sexualized in public schools … against the wishes of their parents.” What they’re really saying is that kids are finding out that LGBTQ+ people exist at school and that if they are LGBTQ+ themselves, it’s OK. This interferes with the hate indoctrination and grooming fundamentalist Christian parents are doing at home.

Obviously this is all part of the coordinated right-wing attack on Pride celebrations at the White House.

Is The Pride Flag Dividing The US Or Are Conservatives Just Awful, Hateful Human Beings?

It was quickly pointed out that this very same flag, which Fox News claimed promoted pedophilia and grooming, critics say, is featured in Fox News’s 2022 corporate responsibility report, linked in the tweet below:

But that’s the Fox News they try to keep under wraps from their viewers, who are mostly clueless that Fox is a real company in a real city, which brags about its inclusivity efforts and environmental initiatives and even stands with Ukraine.

Cynical bastards.

The White House is pissed, quite rightly. First of all, this comes just after Fox News referred to President Joe Biden as a “wannabe dictator” who had his “political rival arrested” in a chyron, something Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded to yesterday. (Oh boy, Fox News did not seem to like that!) White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates has taken the lead on this one, going off on Fox for the flag story yesterday in response to the original deleted tweet.

Text:

.@FoxNews is characteristically lying through their teeth. Please see Dominion Voting Systems v. Fox News Network. Fox never even communicated the malicious and discredited foundation of this article to the White House. Then they lie about whether we responded at all.

Now the headline is changed, but it’s all still garbage, and people are paying attention. And the White House is still pissed. Bates this morning:

Text:

Will @FoxNews retract their dishonest story, or will they release a statement condemning themselves for using the same flag last year? @CNN: “Fox Corporation’s own logo had been wrapped in the very same pride flag last year.”

Fox News has been gay- and trans-bashing this administration like a closet case scared somebody will find out its secret from the get-go, especially with its bizarro-world attacks on Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. They also have a weird kink for taking random stories about the Biden administration and digging for any weird anti-LGBTQ+ angle they can push to their bigoted viewers and readers.

New HIV council members? Did you know some of them worked for Planned Parenthood and other WOKE places? (Should they be hiring from far-right Christian supremacist hate groups instead?)

Biden helping homeless people? Did you know they were doing TRANSGENDER THINGS TO THEM?

You get the idea.

But this is really vile and disgusting and feels like a new low. Literally accusing the Biden administration of promoting pedophilia and “grooming,” and inciting anti-LGBTQ+ hatred in the process.

Tucker Carlson may be fired, but he casts a shadow.

Arizona House, In Weird Twist, Expels Member Who Deserved It

The Arizona House of Representatives got on the expel-a-member bandwagon started by Tennessee last week, voting Wednesday to expel first-term Republican state Rep. Liz Harris for inviting a loonypants election denier to testify before a legislative committee in February. Harris no doubt thought that would be fine, since she herself is a loonypants election denier who insisted that her own election last fall was full of fraud and needed to be rerun.

Previously, On The Expulsion Chronicles:

Arizona Republican Demands Election She Won Be Overturned

TN House GOP To Expel Democrat Terrorists Who Called For Saving Kids’ Lives Without Permission

Forgive Them Lord They … Oh Wait. They Do. Tennessee House Lets Its Racist Freak Flag Fly.

OK, so maybe the only thing Harris’s situation has in common with the travesty in Tennessee is that it ended with expulsion. Unlike the Kafkaesque railroading of Democrats for a minor decorum violation in Tennessee, Harris was only removed — by a bipartisan vote — after an investigation by Arizona’s House Ethics Committee, which allowed Harris to present a defense. It probably didn’t help her case that the committee’s nine-page report determined that Harris had fibbed when she told the committee she absolutely did not know what her invited guest would say.

So no, not at all like the Tennessee expulsion, where the Republican supermajority ignored due process and just made things up as it went along. That said, we do think “Kafka Railroad” would be a really good name for a band.

And hoo boy, the Tennessee Three’s brief, unrecognized protest for gun control sure can’t hold a candle to Harris’s decision to invite a fellow election denier to testify in February before a hearing held by Arizona’s joint House and Senate Election Committee. Harris’s guest witness, Scottsdale insurance agent Jacqueline Breger, managed to out-crazy the average run of the mill election conspiracy tale, even in a state where the loser of the 2022 gubernatorial election, Kari Lake, insists she’s actually the governor.

Here’s the Arizona Republic’s summary of Breger’s testimony:

Breger shocked officials with accusations that Gov. Katie Hobbs, House Speaker Ben Toma, lawmakers, judges, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and others conspired with a Mexican drug cartel and received bribes through a scheme using property deeds.

Breger failed to mention that two women she claimed were key players in the scheme were the ex-wife and former mother-in-law of her boyfriend, John Thaler, a lawyer with a suspended license, who was the source of the claims. Thaler had previously outlined the same bribery scheme in court proceedings related to this divorce and child custody case; two separate judges in federal and Maricopa County Superior courts called the narrative “delusional.”

That brief overview barely scratches the surface of what a clownshow the February hearing was; the committee report also notes that Breger claimed the bribery scheme involved elected officials at every level of government in the state, from city court judges to the state supreme court, as well as members of the Legislature, city and county prosecutors, and “mental health providers as in court-appointed advisors, and related specialists.”

She also insisted that the LDS church secretly controls Arizona government agencies and is “integral to the laundering activities” that got the cartel bribes to what sounds like half the people in government jobs in Arizona. The weird fear of Mormons certainly fits with a lot of Evangelical folk belief, in which Mormons are a dangerous cult, almost as bad as Unitarians.

At one point during Breger’s testimony, a member of the elections committee asked how Breger had been invited to testify. When Breger said she’d been invited by Harris,

Representative Harris made a gesture moving her hand across her neck and mouthed something to Breger. […] Representative Harris subsequently stated that she hoped that the hearing was being presented by all national networks.

Harris got at least part of her wish. Breger’s claims blew up in righting media and, as the Arizona Republic reports,

Hundreds, if not thousands, of Arizona constituents and social media users apparently believed Breger’s testimony. Calls for the arrest of the governor spread on social media immediately afterward.

Later, Harris insisted she was simply helping a constituent voice concerns about the possibility of election integrity issues, in hopes of preventing “mal-administered elections.” When the Ethics Committee asked if she was aware what Breger would present to the Elections Committee, Harris replied, “Absolutely, positively, 100 percent no.”

Big surprise: The investigation found text messages between Harris, Breger, and Thaler, and they even consulted with each other on coming up with a title for Breger’s presentation that would be vague enough to not tip off anyone that it was a load of conspiracy cacadoody.

The Ethics Committee found that Harris “committed disorderly behavior, thereby violating Rule 1 of the Rules of the Arizona House of Representatives and damaging the institutional integrity of the House,” and referred the case to the House for discipline. The vote to expel her was 43-13, with 18 Republicans voting to remove her. All 13 votes against expulsion came from Republicans.

Before the vote, one Republican, state Rep. Alex Kolodin, defended Harris, saying that if she were expelled, the public “will perceive that they don’t have a true voice in this body,” presumably because the bugfuck nutso parts of the public need representation too. Kolodin explained that Harris’s constituents had chosen “somebody to rock the boat,” only to see her expelled, and what a sad day for democracy etc. He did at least acknowledge that Harris’s boat-rocking was “admittedly in the wrong way … a way that should have been better considered.”

As for Harris, TV journalists caught up with her as she was taking stuff from her office to her car, and she insisted the Ethics Committee report was “a lie,” and muttered that Republicans had taken her down to “make an example” of her to make members “toe the line.”

youtu.be

Also one of her supporters yelled that they loved her, and that now she’s been “set free from the vipers” in the Legislature. When a reporter asked Harris how she’s feeling emotionally, the same voice interrupts, “aren’t you relieved to not to deal with these vipers?” No word on whether these vipers are also RINOs, which would make for a cool chimera in a medieval bestiary.

Now that she’s returned to private life, Harris is ready for the wingnut welfare circuit. This morning, in fact, she’ll be doing an interview show at 10 EDT on Rumble with a couple of wingnut “journalists,” so that might generate some quotable lunacy about Mormons and vipers.

Sounds Like Somebody Should Investigate Congressional Hunter Biden Enthusiast GOP Rep. James Comer

We feel like it was just five seconds ago that we saw Republican House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer on the teevee babbling conspiracy theory shit about Hunter Biden and Ukraine and Joe Biden and prosecutors that was debunked YEARS AGO during Donald Trump’s first impeachment.

And boy, we thought, Comer must have NOTHING on the Bidens.

Fox News seemed exasperated the other day asking Comer if he had any actual dirt on the Bidens. Comer just begged for more time and babbled illiterate Kentucky livestock words about “doesn’t add up.”

Let’s read in the New York Times about how Comer has standards for the information he guzzles down, and how difficult it is for him to keep folks from bringing him silly QAnon arglebargle, which is different from the very serious science investigations he is doing into Hunter Biden’s Ukrainian penis. Because he thinks that stuff is pretty important, mmkay?

Steering his S.U.V. through pounding rain on his way to the state capital on a recent Thursday, Representative James R. Comer, the chairman of the Oversight and Accountability Committee, reflected on the pressure he often faced from constituents to investigate unhinged claims about President Biden and Democrats.

“You know, the customer’s always right,” Mr. Comer said wryly, of his approach to the people who elected him and now brandish conspiracy theories, vulgar photographs featuring the president and his son, Hunter, and other lies they expect him to act upon.

“I say, ‘Let me see it,’ because I want to see where the source is,” Mr. Comer said. “They don’t know that it’s QAnon, but it’s QAnon stuff.”

James Comer is very discerning when it comes to picking out the highest quality information about Hunter Biden’s Ukrainian business and/or laptop and/or ding-a-ling. He knows some of the the stuff QAnon says about Hunter Biden is HORNSWOGGLE.

James Comer knows the difference.

Of course, the Times does note that Comer “has himself become a promoter of sinister-sounding allegations against Mr. Biden and his family.” That’s one way to say “peddles absolute bullshit.” And is just a partisan hack and a clown in general. And is a sick fuck who wishes Joe Biden’s dead son Beau Biden had been investigated more.

But he’s not an idiot like some of these people.

Totally unrelated, we are sure, but the Times notes that Comer’s Oversight Committee has people like Marjorie Taylor Greene on it, and he asks how much he can really control members like that. “It’s hard for a coach to tell LeBron James what he’s doing wrong,” says Comer, who apparently thinks Greene has things in common with LeBron James.

But this is an entire NYT profile of a man it says “presents himself as an affable country boy of limited abilities,” so let’s see what other gross nuggets about Comer we can pull out of the dungheap.

Investigate Trump? How’s he gonna find Hunter Biden’s tallywhacker in there?

Just recently it was reported that the House Oversight Committee had kinda quietly stopped investigating Donald Trump’s finances. “What exactly are they looking for?” Comer asked the New York Times. “They’ve been ‘investigating’ Trump for six years. I know exactly what I’m investigating: money the Bidens received from China.”

Or as we like to call it, Hunter Biden’s CERTIFIED ANGUS WANGUS!

And of course, Comer has also quit investigating Jared Kushner’s TWO BILLION BUCKAROOS from the Saudis. Nothing to see there, probably. And how brazen he really is about why:

While he did not rule out looking at Mr. Kushner’s business dealings at some point, when a reporter suggested it might be politically unsustainable for him to investigate Mr. Trump’s son-in-law, he took a long pause, then replied: “I don’t disagree with what you said.”

He reckons that what that reporter had said is the truth. There will be no investigatin’ of Jared Kushner. Not on Sheriff Jamie Comer’s watch, pew pew pew. (They call that idiot Jamie back in Kentucky, and we think we ought to do the same.)

DOMESTIC ABUSE ALLEGATIONS, ABORTIONS, EMAILS, OH MY!

The Times profile tells us some things we feel should be more front of mind whenever we bring up Mr. Comer. Some of it we already knew, but deserves more attention. Some of it is BRAND new. Like how in 2015, Comer, who has a long history in Kentucky politics, was running in the Republican primary for governor, and a blogger started reporting allegations that when Comer was in college, he had abused his girlfriend.

So here’s what Comer did:

His campaign turned over documents to a local prosecutor to help in an investigation of the blogger. (The prosecutor dropped the investigation after the election.)

The month before the primary, a story appeared in The Lexington Herald-Leader in which leaked emails suggested coordination between the blogger and the husband of the running mate of one of Mr. Comer’s opponents in the race, the Louisville developer Hal Heiner.

The rumor whispered around Kentucky political circles at the time was that Mr. Comer had swiped the emails from the computer server for the husband’s former law firm and leaked them to the newspaper. In an interview with The Times, Mr. Comer confirmed, for the first time, that he had been behind the leak and strongly hinted he had gotten them from the server.

“I’ve had two servers in my lifetime,” Mr. Comer said when asked about the emails. “Hunter Biden’s is one, and you can — I’m not going to say who the other one was, but you can use your imagination.”

Wait, so he had stolen emails that he used to discredit the people reporting on allegations from a former girlfriend that he had abused her. And now he is admitting that aw shucks, yes, he was the one who leaked those stolen emails.

His decision to leak the emails backfired. The former college girlfriend, Marilyn Thomas, was angry about being called a liar and sent a four-page letter to a reporter at The Louisville Courier-Journal who published a devastating story just weeks before Primary Day.

In the letter, which The Times obtained and authenticated, Ms. Thomas accused Mr. Comer of having hit her and said he had taken her to a clinic for an abortion, an account that was supported by her roommate at the time. The article reported Ms. Thomas’s claim that she had a document in a lock box in a Kentucky bank proving Mr. Comer had accompanied her for the abortion, but the document has never been made public.

Dang he sounds like a charmer a hypocrite, a shitweasel, and a criminal. According to reporting in 2015, he was furious when he found out he’d have to use his real name at the abortion clinic in Louisville when filling out the form attesting he would drive Thomas home.

He still denies all this, of course. Sounds to us like there ought to be an ethics investigation at the very least. Or maybe he should just resign.

There’s more in the Times profile, should you want to read it.

We think we’ll just sit here and reflect on what we’ve learned about the credibility of one Mr. Jamie Comer, the self-appointed Inspector Gadget of Hunter Biden’s Penis.

SCOTUS Won’t Let Mormon Trumpet Band Overturn 2020 Election

In an entirely unsurprising move (even with its current makeup), the Supreme Court has decidednot to hear a case brought by three Utah brothers seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 election and kick President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris out of office, along with almost 400 members of Congress, and then reinstate Donald Trump as president of the United States. The case was considered on Friday — coincidentally the two-year anniversary of Trump supporters invading the Capitol in hopes of preventing Congress from certifying the election — and on Monday it was announced that the Supreme Court had turned down their petition.

The Brunson Brothers are not just a bunch of conspiracy-obsessed weirdos. They are a bunch of conspiracy-obsessed weirdos in a family band — a Mormon family trumpet band that once played on “The Tonight Show” with some regularity and also regularly performed with Jay Osmond, one of the lesser-known Osmonds.

www.youtube.com

While all of the brothers are very upset about the 2020 election, the actual plaintiff in Brunson v. Adams is Raland Brunson, who intended to represent himself. His brother, Loy Brunson, also filed an identical lawsuit, and both of them were written by their other brother, Deron Brunson. Deron Brunson is not a lawyer but took an online course called “How To Win In Court Without A Lawyer,” which is just as good as going to law school. They also have a fourth brother, Gaynor, who was “too busy” to be involved, though I strongly suspect he might actually be actor Michael McKean doing a bit.

www.youtube.com

Tell me that’s not the David St. Hubbins wig. That is the David St. Hubbins wig.

The whole lawsuit is worth a read if you are looking for a good laugh, but this has to be my favorite part:

Respondents were properly warned and were requested to make an investigation into a highly covert swift and powerful enemy, as stated below, seeking to destroy the Constitution and the United States, purposely thwarted all efforts to investigate this, whereupon this enemy was not checked or investigated, therefore the Respondents adhered to this enemy. Because of Respondents intentional refusal to investigate this enemy, Petitioner Raland J Brunson (“Brunson”) brought this action against Respondents because he was seriously personally damaged and violated by this action of Respondents, and consequently this action unilaterally violated the rights of every citizen of the U.S.A. and perhaps the rights of every person living, and all courts of law.

On January 6, 2021, the 117th Congress held a proceeding and debate in Washington DC (“Proceeding”). Proceeding was for the purpose of counting votes under the 2020 Presidential election for the President and Vice President of the United States under Amendment XII. During this Proceeding over 100 members of U.S. Congress claimed factual evidence that the said election was rigged. The refusal of the Respondents to investigate this congressional claim (the enemy) is an act of treason and fraud by Respondents. A successfully rigged election has the same end result as an act of war; to place into power whom the victor wants, which in this case is Biden, who, if not stopped immediately, will continue to destroy the fundamental freedoms of Brunson and all U.S. Citizens and courts of law.

The absolute drama.

While you, a normal person, have likely not heard much about Brunson v. Adams, it has been a huge deal for QAnon idiots and conspiracy theorists over the past few months, many of whom truly did believe that this was the thing that was going to finally work. Loy Brunson made all the rounds on kook media, doing interviews on Mike Lindell’s FrankSpeech Internet streaming network, with Juan O Savin (whom some Q people believe is actually John F. Kennedy Jr), Johnny Enlow, Charlie Ward, and former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Kandiss “Babies and Guns” Taylor. Plus about 12,000 Rumble channels with the word “Patriot” in their name.

Yes, I absolutely did pick this particular screenshot because there is a guy in it calling himself “Baby Trump”

Naturally, many of the faithful are deeply disappointed today and fear they may be running out of “hopium.” They expressed their disappointment on Telegram and other rightwing social media channels.

“Of course. It’s time we stop believing anything is going to go our way. The system is rigged against us, and I’m sorry to say, noones [sic] coming to save us. Just look at Brazil.”

“I am wondering what they mean by hanging in there at this point…. [they] want us in nooses. 🤬 This is just another bullshit hopium stunt. I agree… and I am done. I will just live my life going forward the best I can, and trust ONLY IN GOD. Good Luck All.The petition argued, essentially, that because people believed the election had been stolen, Congress had an obligation to investigate the claims, and because they didn’t do that, they violated their oaths of office.”

“Did u expect anything different it’s all BS NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN SAY TRUST THE PLAN THERE IS NO PLAN EXCEPT TO STRING US ALONG MILITARY IS NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING FACE IT TRUMP IS A CHUMP I AM DONE WITH IT.”

“Has anyone mentioned that the bad stuff is out pacing the good stuff exponentially? Just an observation. I’m really starting to believe the only way to fix this is civil war. It is scary to think we will have to fight our own military. I’m praying they step in soon, but when they do, I can imagine that we could have elections 120 days later. We don’t even know who good candidates would be. We also need Constitutional law to replace the current law and full declass. That could easily take over a year.”

“IM DONE WITH THEM PLAYING WITH MY FAITH.

Some, however, are still trusting in the plan. As one YouTube user with no inside knowledge of the matter wrote, “A lot going on behind the scenes, military is in control and we have been watching the biggest take down of our Gov. in history, so pray!”
