Missing Carson Shephard: All we know as frantic search for boy, 7, continues


Police have made a fresh appeal to trace missing Carson Shephard as the search for the Ayrshire child enters its twelfth hour.

The seven-year-old vanished from New Cumnock at around 7.20pm last night with people from across Ayrshire taking part in frantic search late last night.

Cops confirmed that air support and marine and dog units have been utilised in the frantic search for Carson.

Where did he go missing from?

Carson was last seen in the Afton Bridgend area of the village at around 7.20pm last night.

What does Carson look like?

Carson is around 3ft 6in tall, has short dark brown hair, and is of slim build.

He was last known to be wearing dark blue jeans, a t-shirt and a black top.

What can the public do?

Police urged members of the public last night to check sheds, gardens and garages.

The local community has also been providing assistance to officers in the area, police have confirmed.

Last night, people from across Ayrshire travelled to the village to help in the search.

Police Scotland, as well as partner agencies, have made use of a range of resources since Carson was reported missing, including the police helicopter, marine and dog units, and Scottish Fire & Rescue Service water support unit.

“Police in Ayrshire are appealing for the public’s assistance in tracing 7-year-old Carson Shephard who has been reported missing from New Cumnock.

“Carson was last seen in the Afton Bridgend area of the village at around 7.20pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

“Carson is around 3ft 6in tall, has short dark brown hair, and is of slim build.

“He was last known to be wearing dark blue jeans, a t-shirt and a black top.
