Marvel’s Kevin Feige On X-Men & Young Avengers Plans

Marvel’s Kevin Feige commented on the studio’s X-Men and Young Avengers plans during the world premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Deadline had the opportunity to speak with Kevin Feige at the red carpet of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in Hollywood. During their discussion, Feige was asked about the X-Men and the Young Avengers, two iconic comic book teams that fans have been waiting to see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it continues to grow the Multiverse saga.

Kevin Feige wouldn’t reveal much about the X-Men, referencing a joke from the final episode of the Disney Plus series She-Hulk. However, Feige did tease that we’re getting closer to their MCU debut, as evidenced by the recent news that Disney plans to release a new Deadpool movie in 2024, featuring the Merc with the Mouth and Wolverine, a classic X-Men hero.

“That’s what Jennifer Walters just asked the robot in the final episode of She-Hulk. And I’ll give you the same answer that he gave, which was, I don’t remember, no answer. I think that’s what he gave, yes,” Feige joked. “But with Deadpool and Wolverine, you know, we’re getting close.”

As for the Young Avengers, Kevin Feige pointed out that Marvel has already started introducing members of the team in its movies and television shows, teasing that they could eventually meet up.

“Well, I think people pick up what we’re putting down sometimes. And we take our cues from the comics,” Feige said. “And yes, you know, introducing as many characters as we can from the comics is what I’ve spent the last twenty-two years doing. And those are among the many that we’ve introduced.”
